Personal Account Has Been Deleted

Some time ago, I was preparing to publish an article on CSDN. Because the article contained links to several articles from my own website and a QR code for my WeChat public account, it kept failing the review process, with the reason being classified as "advertising."

Since I hadn't been on CSDN for a long time, I wasn't very clear about the changes in the website's publishing rules. I was hoping to promote my public account and personal website through CSDN, but little did I know it would keep failing review.

At the same time, I noticed that some accounts were able to include WeChat public account QR codes and website links, which was strange.

Finally, after checking the website rules, I discovered that only CSDN members with an influence score >1000 are allowed to promote. Direct link

Here's a partial quote: "The ancients said 'good wine needs no bush,' but in the internet age of information explosion, traffic is undoubtedly the eternal theme. Because of this, many bloggers, in pursuit of attention and traffic, directly publish obvious advertorials, external drainage links, and guiding information on CSDN... These seriously affect the quality of CSDN's content ecosystem and also create negative user experiences.

To create a healthy content ecosystem, CSDN has officially launched the 'My Promotion' function—providing promotion information management functions for compliant, high-quality creators with positive influence, including public accounts, official websites, organizations, etc. While complying with CSDN community creation standards, it meets CSDN bloggers' promotion needs, avoiding self-promotional boasting while fully showcasing works to readers." So, to follow platform rules and avoid "self-promotional boasting," I personally decided to abandon this platform.

From another perspective, spending dozens of yuan to open VIP to read some low-quality articles is not as cost-effective as directly opening a ChatGPT Plus subscription.

In the AI era, even Baidu and Google's search businesses are declining, let alone CSDN.

Currently, CSDN is not worth spending a penny on, so I directly deleted my account.

Now, let's look at netizens' complaints about CSDN over the years.

Complaints from Netizens

image.png image.png Netizen said: CSDN, without my permission and consent, privately converted multiple of my blog posts into "VIP articles," with zero revenue. They really treat authors like cattle, traffic like advertising, and users like leeks.

Some netizens also compiled CSDN's five major sins image.png

Other netizens shared methods to block CSDN in Baidu and Google image.png

A netizen said: Turning free software into paid downloads image.png

Netizen said: Some people use technical means to crawl others' original articles and publish them on CSDN for VIP charging, causing original authors to be impersonated. image.png

Even more, netizens gave a new definition: CSDN = Copy, Steal and pay-Download Net

What's even more outrageous is that CSDN's customer service blocks netizens. Has the customer service profession always been this tough? image.png image.png image.png

There are many more complaints from netizens. You can explore them on Zhihu.

Summary

From technical enlightenment in student days to today's love-hate relationship, CSDN has witnessed the growth of a generation of programmers. But with the changing tech ecosystem, do we still need CSDN? In today's AI era, platforms like CSDN and websites dependent on search engines will gradually be phased out.
